Ensure that your weight is in a healthy range for your age.

Most women in their 30s seem to have an extremely busy lifestyle and often don’t have the time to eat healthily. But that’s when it’s even more essential to maintain your weight, especially when it comes to improving fertility.

If you are facing issues getting pregnant, you should consult with your doctor and ask if your weight could be one of the contributing factors to your infertility.

The doctor can help you come up with a plan to get your weight in the healthy range and improve your fertility. 

Focus on a healthy fertility diet, full of foods rich in vitamins and minerals to help your body be in the best condition possible for conceiving.

Find activities that allow you to stress less throughout the day.

If you are working hard to increase your fertility, you are bound to have a lot of stressful moments in life. Constant stress in return can also affect your fertility, which is not something you might already know.

Maintaining your stress levels and finding things to be happier throughout the fertility journey is really crucial. Every day, take some time out to work on hobbies so you can be distracted from stress for a while.

Working out is important, but it shouldn’t be done excessively.

Working out has been another suggested way to boost fertility, but it’s necessary to do it the proper way for the best results. If you are already exercising, make sure you are doing it correctly and not over exerting yourself. 

Intense workouts can be harmful to your body and can reduce your fertility rate. It is suggested that you should only work out for a time span that suits your overall health with other restrictions considered as well.

Make sure to have an exercising schedule that allows you to work out effectively and efficiently.

Regular doctor consultation is one of the best things to do.

Even if you are on the best diet and take care of your health, it doesn’t mean that you can suddenly cure all the fertility issues. Sometimes, it’s necessary that you take advice from experts and medical professionals. 

Schedule regular visits to the doctor. This will ensure that you stay in touch with everything that’s going on in your body.

Your doctor will also be able to help you take necessary precautions to make sure things are okay. You should also be consulting your doctor to ask for more efficient ways to improve fertility. In some cases, they may suggest procedures such as HSG or HSN or maybe even, IVF.

Normally, a couple in their 20s would be told to try for a year without protection and then seek help from an OB/GYN or fertility clinic to see if they need further testing.

However, in your 30s, this changes. If you’ve entered the advanced maternal age stage, this timeline decreases to 6 months of trying before seeking help.

What Tests Should You Ask For?

Do your research, but in general ask for these:

  • hormone blood test panel (like estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, LH, etc)
  • thyroid levels including antibodies and antigens
  • HSG & HSN
  • pelvic ultrasound baseline

Pay special attention to your ovulation cycles at every point of time.
